About the company

NattoPharma is a Norwegian raw material supplier founded in 2004 and based at Lysaker, Norway. The company sells and develops MenaQ7^®, the natural vitamin K2, the most effective form of K2 vitamins. NattoPharma ASA was admitted to the Oslo Stock Exchange list "Oslo Axess" as per January 30th 2008.

NattoPharma has exclusive sales and marketing rights to MenaQ7^®, the natural form of vitamin K2 derived from natto. These rights are a result of a longstanding relationship with J-Oil Mills Inc, the producer of vitamin K2, and Sumitomo Group - who has the worldwide distribution and marketing rights to the product.

Regulatory status

NattoPharma had a regulatory breakthrough when MenaQ7^® was, as the only vitamin K2, approved by EU in 2009. The approval to sell MenaQ7^® as both food supplement and fortified food gives NattoPharma a solid base for wide distribution of MenaQ7 in Europe.

In January 2008, MenaQ7^®, the natural vitamin K2, was found safe for use as an ingredient in food products by an independent panel of expert. This "self-affirmed" GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) status opened up a new market for MenaQ7^®.

Product specification

MenaQ7^® is provided as an oil solution (M-1500 µg K2/g) and as powder (P-1000, P-2000 µg K2/g ) containing the menaquinone-7 form of natural vitamin K2. These products are used either in stand alone or complex dietary products, or as additives to various forms of functional food products.
We offer standard products to standard prices. Larger amounts are negotiated contractually.
